In Japanese, there is a culture of kanji which is a set of characters that originated from Chinese characters, and the meaning of the name changes according to the choice of kanji characters.
The more numerous variations of kanji, the more common name is in Japan. On the other hand, a name with very few variations in kanji is unique and rare to the Japanese.

貞 means "chastity, fidelity, loyalty."
Righteousness - Acting in a morally correct and just manner.
Honesty - Being truthful and sincere in one's words and actions.
Uprightness - Having a strong moral character and a sense of integrity.
Divination - To predict the future or gain insight into a situation by interpreting signs or omens.
Upright - This is a positive and noble quality that implies a person is honest, reliable, and has a strong moral character.
Righteous - This is a quality that implies a person is just and fair in their actions and decisions.
Honest - This is a quality that implies a person is truthful and trustworthy.
Faithful - This is a quality that implies a person is loyal and devoted to their commitments.
Loyal - This is a quality that implies a person is devoted and dedicated to their relationships and obligations.
True - This is a quality that implies a person is genuine and sincere in their words and actions.
Pure - This is a quality that implies a person is innocent and untainted by negative influences.
香 means "fragrance, aroma, scent."
Appealing - Having an attractive appearance, color, voice, taste, etc.

Basically, names with more variations are more common and familiar to the Japanese.
